Local MP, James Cleverly, popped into Play Out Steeple Bumpstead, following its recent re-brand from Blois Meadow Day Nursery, to meet with staff, parents and most importantly the children.
James met the children as they played in the garden and also joined them on a “bug hunt” in the nearby woods. During his visit he also had the opportunity to speak to staff about how the new brand better reflected the ‘Using Nature to Nurture’ ethos and the importance of the outdoor environment in ensuring children are motivated to learn and ready to thrive throughout their lives.
James also heard from parents about the care their children received and how much they welcomed the opportunities for development that the outdoor environment gave them.
James said, “It was wonderful to see the children enjoying the natural environment on their doorstop. I believe it is really important that children growing up in this day and age get the same opportunities as my generation, to play and explore outdoors.”
Suzy Forth, Operations Director said, “It was a pleasure to have James visit and great to see him enjoying the “bug hunt” as much as the children; he was an absolute natural with them.”
