Around the World Week

Play Out Ipswich have loved learning about different cultures, learning about different countries and designing their own flags, dressing up and trying lots of gorgeous food!!

We have recently had an Around the World topic week!

The toddler room children explored Chinese writing, using their fingers to trace the writing into rice?

They also watched a Brazilian carnival and talked about the best clothes you would wear! They then made their own carnival masks ?

The preschool children loved looking at the different flags…then had a go at making their own Brazilian flag.

The next day they copied the Lithuanian flag by mixing food coloring and milk, painted this onto bread and enjoyed it toasted at snack time ?

The baby room made Eid biscuits using lots of colorful icing to celebrate Eid ??

We also had a visit from Rahena (who is currently on maternity leave) and Inaya who come in to show us their beautiful saris and brought in home made poppadoms and samosas. Rahena explained to the children about Eid and how they celebrated. The children loved having henna done on their hands with lots of Eid designs.
